What To Do After Being Arrested Top 10 DWI Mistakes What Happens After a DWI Arrest?

In-Patient Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation

Anyone who is arrested and convicted of a DWI in the state of Texas, can expect to face heavy fines, penalties, license suspension, jail time and more. Those individuals who are first time DWI offenders are commonly required, as a condition of their probation, to receive an evaluation in order to uncover any underlying problem with drug or alcohol abuse. If such a problem is disclosed, they will be ordered to attend AA and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment.

Multiple DWI offenders will face significantly stiffer penalties. An individual who has been charged with a third DWI offense (or greater), which is considered a third degree felony, has demonstrated a serious problem with drug or alcohol abuse, and in many cases the judge with order in-patient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. This means you will be confined to a state facility for the entirety of your drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Upon successful completion, you will be released and placed on parole for up to 10 years.
